Show Review: Blue Tower Gallery Opening

Blue Tower Opening

Congratulations and much thanks to everyone at Blue Tower Gallery who worked so hard, making possible the wonderful opening party on May 18, 2007. Fred, the Omnipotent Filmcritic, took photos of both the artwork (including that wonder of architecture, the Blue Tower) and the people at the party.
The turnout was great, the people were awesome and several pieces of art were sold. Even Steve Jones, a.k.a. Fab Man, showed up with his lovely wife Amy to entertain us with his wit and humor.

Real Estate Article: Bubble, Schmubble: Atlanta's Market Still Strong

Far too often we as Real Estate professionals succumb to the panic factor that comes along with the following words as it relates to the market: "bubble, burst, slump, slow". We read about it in the papers, we hear it in the media and we hear it in the objections from our buyers. So how do we get past this "fear factor"? First of all, we have to look at the facts that will help to denounce the current fears:

June Recipe: Cajun Seafood Pasta

Seafood Fettuccine

Ingredients:
2 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil
1 tablespoon chopped fresh thyme
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons ground black pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons crushed red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon ground white pepper
1 cup chopped green onions
1 cup chopped parsley
1/2 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 pound scallops
1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 pound fresh fettucine pasta

Directions: NOTE: Reduce pepper amounts a bit unless you like this very spicy. As it is written, it is too spicy for most people.

Cook pasta in a large pot of boiling salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, pour cream into large skillet. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until just about boiling. Reduce heat, and add herbs, salt, peppers, onions, and parsley. Simmer 7 to 8 minutes, or until thickened. Stir in seafood, cooking until shrimp is no longer transparent. Stir in cheeses, blending well. Drain pasta. Serve sauce over noodles. Makes 5 servings. Do you have a recipe to share? Please email info@georgiaArtExchange.org

Carole Jackson has conducted the first Project Hope Program at the Hope Center in Cartersville, Ga.

They meet the first 3 Tuesdays of each month.  The program is free.

Every Tuesday Carole Jackson conducts painting classes for people going through chemo or radiation.

Project Hope is planning a Spring and Fall auction.  The proceeds will go the Hope Center as well as American Cancer Society.  The pilot program is a success and many talents are beginning to bud.  Most people need an "away" time to just be themselves - and an overwhelming "yes" from every participant wrote in their journals that Project Hope helped to soothe or relax them.  All participants had never painted.

Anyone interested can contact the Hope Center and ask for Darlene Cagle  678.721.5555  Advertising will begin next month or contact Carole Jackson at goodidea2004@bellsouth.net .

Any artist willing to donate paints (acrylic only), brushes, table easels, please contact Carole at 770.607.6658...they would really appreciated it!.
