ACRYLIC PAINTING

Fearless Painting – For all levels from beginning to advanced

Life’s Landscapes in Acrylic

Painting is a great adventure that can take you on a voyage of discovery to places you never thought you would go.  If you are one of those fortunate people who feel drawn to the act of painting, congratulate yourself for your willingness to take the journey!

Experience the joy of discovering new things about yourself and new ways of looking at your world.

·       Learn to express yourself in a spontaneous, uninhibited way through paint

·       Get over your fear of “making a mistake” by creating purposeful mistakes and getting them behind you so you can move on to the business of painting.

·       See how your painting can parallel what’s happening in your life and how to change directions.

What you will learn:

·       Learn all about the materials – paints, brushes, supports, etc.

·       Learn about color and how to find your way around the color wheel

·       Learn the basics of light, shapes, composition and value

·       Learn to express your ideas and point of view through painting

·       Break your boundaries and paint from your heart.  Paint where you want to go, not where you are.

Description:

Discover the exciting world of Acrylic Painting!  We will learn to paint with wild abandon and get out of the way of our own “critical inner voice”!  I believe in “paint first – think later”!  Learn to play with color and shape. We will not paint from still life or photograph but paint unique subjects that come directly from your heart.

No prior experience is necessary.  This class is for anyone who wants to learn to paint for the shear joy of painting!

What to bring to class:

·       Apron, smock, or clothing you don’t mind getting paint on! This class is not about neat and tidy!

·       3 full sheets 140lb cold pressed watercolor paper.  I like Arches or Fabriano Uno papers.

·       Water bucket (approximately 16oz to one gallon).  Any plastic water container will work, but if you bring one too small you will have to refresh your water more often!

·       If you have acrylic brushes you like, bring them.  Otherwise, brushes will be provided.
