Gallery 4463 Artist Registry AND January Open House

Gallery 4463 would like to invite all artists to join the gallery's Artist Registry. The Registry is an on-line listing of artists from not only north Georgia, but internationally as well. The Registry is a place for artists of all media to show a sampling of their work, and it is for customers and patrons to look for artists in which they might be interested. It is a service for those who create and seek quality art.

As one of north Georgia's premier fine arts galleries, Gallery 4463's goal is to encourage and nurture the arts in our area; to inspire other artists and to be a source of pride in the local community. Our new Artist Registry is a way to give the opportunity to artists to become connected to the community and to patrons of the arts, as well as for people from other areas who wish to connect with Gallery 4463 in Acworth and our region.

There are differing levels of membership to the Registry. For a limited time, artists who sign up for Premier Level get a $20 discount. This offer lasts until the end of January.

For $50 annually (Premier Level), artists will get space for a bio and 12 images. For $30 annually (Associate Level), artists get their bio and 6 images. Finally, student artists pay $20 (Student Level) for a bio and 6 images. In addition to the online Registry listing, members of the Registry will be eligible for a juried show that will encompass the whole of the city of Acworth. Registry members will have their art displayed in Gallery 4463, and many of the other restaurants and businesses in Acworth for a celebration of the arts.

Friday, January 15; 7 pm

Callanwolde Fine Arts Center will sponsor the launch of a new novel, "Highlands-A-Go-Go: Finding Virginia-Highland" with a wine-and-cheese reception and a reading by the author. The event will be held in the Samuel Goldman Retreat, located on the Callanwolde grounds at 980 Briarcliff Rd. Atlanta.

The book, by local author DM Paule, is set in Atlanta's Virginia Highland neighborhood. "Depending on who you talk to, Virginia-Highland is an entertainment district; a left-wing, political powerhouse; or a state-of-mind. The goal of this book is to preserve a moment in time," says Paule. Paule is also the author of the highly successful novel "The Monarch of Key West", published in 2001.

Books will be available to be purchased and signed by the author. Reservations are required, and a tax-deductible contribution of $20 will go to benefit Callanwolde's arts programming.

For reservations, contact Jane Edwards at 404-872-5338 ext. 240, or by email: jedwards@callanwolde.org   For more information about the book visit http://www.highlandsagogo.com/
